The origins of yoga are shrouded in the mists of time. We know from various scriptures, puranas, Vedas and legends that the science of yoga has been passed down, in an unbroken tradition, since time immemorial.
But what is yoga? – The word has many meanings: relation, union, knowledge…
Now, it is important to consider if it is possible to realize the true nature of yoga simply by understanding its meaning as a word? – No. One cannot have knowledge of yoga by the mere study of texts on yoga or, by understanding the word. So, what to do? – Practice and find it!
Anyone can practice yoga. You don’t need special equipment or clothes- just a strong desire to find yourself, to became healthier and stronger.
To understand what yoga is about you need to have the experience for yourself and whether if you are approaching yoga as a way to keep your body fit, seeking help for a specific complain or finding yourself unsatisfied with your life, if you go on with a regular practice, in time, you will became aware of subtle changes in the way you approach life and you will find that yoga is a precious instrument for toning and relaxing the body, stilling the mind and giving you inner peace.
